Matrilineal – The Mother Line by Lynsey-Erin Mercer won the 2023 Sculpture Prize
Hamilton Architects are delighted to confirm that the practice will once again sponsor the Sculpture Prize at this year’s Royal Ulster Academy exhibition.
The 143rd Annual Exhibition, staged at the Ulster Museum, will take place between 18th October and 6th January 2025. It is the highlight of Northern Ireland’s artistic calendar.
RUA President Dan Dowling will present the winning sculptor with their award at the launch of the much-anticipated Artists’ Evening on 17th October, with the show opening to the public the next day.
The practice has a long association with the RUA, having sponsored various categories for many years. The 2023 Sculpture Prize winner was Lynsey-Erin Mercer with her work ‘Matrilineal – The Mother Line’.
Hundreds of works by local and global artists go on show during the exhibition in mediums as diverse as painting, drawing, original prints, photography, video, textiles and ceramics. Admission is free, with more information available here on the RUA website.
