Education Minister Paul Givan has marked the beginning of the construction phase for the new Mary Queen of Peace Primary School in Glenravel.
Hamilton Architects are leading the Integrated Consultant Team, with an anticipated completion date of July 2027.
The project will bring together two local primary schools; St Mary’s of Cargan and Glenravel Primary School, Martinstown; delivering a new stand-alone nine-classroom facility on a greenfield site.
Speaking at last week’s event, Paul Givan reflected on this exciting chapter for the school:
“Providing inspiring environments for teaching and learning is a key factor in supporting our children to thrive. This investment will deliver lasting benefits for years to come, ensuring Mary Queen of Peace can deliver high quality education for generations to come.”
The school’s principal, Malachy Conlon emphasised how this was momentous occasion:
“Our new school is the result of years of hard work, planning and teamwork. I pay tribute to everyone involved. Our new school is an investment in the future of our pupils and the whole school community.”
As construction begins, the new Mary Queen of Peace Primary School represents not only a major investment in education, but a bright new chapter for pupils, staff and the wider Glenravel community.
