Hamilton Architects are delighted to announce that our design for the new home of Ards Football Club has received planning approval.

The football club have been without an official home since the closure of Castlereagh Park in 2001 and have been operating on a ground-sharing policy with other local clubs since.

Chairman of the club, Warren Patton, revealed that gaining permission had been a ‘huge relief. Its also exciting because it opens up opportunities for the club’.

The new Premiership-ready stadium will be located on a six-acre plot of Council-owned land, next to their traditional home of Castlereagh Park. The development will feature 2,000-capacity grounds will include two stands with 830 seats, changing rooms, floodlights, and a shared car park at the Floodgates.

The design provides a long-awaited permanent base for the thriving senior and junior teams as well as allowing the club to work with schools, youth groups, sports clubs, and sports organisations to develop a true stadium for the community.
