Hamilton Architects is pleased to announce that Associate Jonathan Greig has successfully completed the Passivhaus Designer course, further enhancing the practice’s capacity to deliver high-performance, low-energy architecture. The programme, delivered via the GRASP (GReen Accelerator Skills Programme) initiative and supported by PEACEPLUS under the administration of the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), provides design professionals with specialist skills to achieve stringent sustainability standards.

The intensive two-week course delivered both online and across South West College campuses, focuses on the core principles of Passivhaus design: exceptional energy efficiency, outstanding thermal comfort, robust detailing, and a fabric-first approach to reducing carbon emissions. Jonathan was one of just 14 participants from across the housing, architecture, and construction sectors to complete the Passive House Designer qualification through the programme.

Reflecting on the value of the training, Jonathan said:

“As an architect, I am witnessing first-hand the growing demand for sustainable design. This course has provided me with the practical skills and knowledge to confidently advise clients and integrate Passive House principles into future projects; contributing to a meaningful reduction in the environmental footprint of the built environment.”

Jonathan’s achievement reaffirms our commitment at Hamilton Architects to embedding sustainable design excellence at the core of our practice. By supporting advanced training such as the Passivhaus Designer qualification, we continue to expand our expertise in energy-efficient design, ensuring that every project brings us a step closer to a more resilient, low-carbon future.
