Stunning new images offer a bird’s eye view of Holy Trinity College

Stunning new drone images reveal the new multi-million pound Holy Trinity College, Cookstown, moving into final stages of construction.

Steelwork for the last piece of the design jigsaw arrived late summer and the roof has gone on the SEN and Admin block in time for autumn. Window installation is also underway, with scaffolding coming down to reveal the new school in all its glory!

Hamilton Architects are leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the c.16,000m2 school for 1,300 pupils, with Felix O’Hare & Co Ltd carrying out the construction.

The new school is situated on a shale pitch at the rear of the existing building at Chapel Street, creating a modern education facility to meet increased demand in the catchment area.

On completion, Phase 2 will see the demolition of the old school, which has remained fully operational for the duration of the project, and completion of siteworks.

As the new images show, the design evokes Holy Trinity’s rural location with an undulating pitched roof which harmonises with the rolling hills of the Sperrins. Large expanses of coloured glazing will be incorporated above the brickwork plinth.

The main 3-storey building is positioned along a north-south axis around a central courtyard with single storey Sports and Technology annexes complemented by a 3G full-size GAA pitch.

Car parking and pedestrian access, along with new bus, car and taxi drop-offs, will provide access at the front of the site.
