Hamilton Architects salutes talent during World Architecture Day 2024

‘Empowering the Next Generation in Participatory Urban Design’ is the official theme of the International Union of Architects event, which has been celebrated since 1985.

It coincides with the United Nations World Habitat Day, aligning the architectural community’s efforts with global urban development goals.

“This year’s theme highlights the importance of new perspectives in urban planning and development,” said Michelle Canning, Partner. “It encourages architects to bring forward innovative ideas that are essential for sustainable growth.”

Key areas of focus for this year’s WAD include energy efficiency, waste management, the use of sustainable materials, and the promotion of sustainable mobility.

“Ultimately, the aim is to collaborate with communities to create environmentally conscious cities that reduce dependence on external resources and promote the care of public spaces,” added Michelle.

“As a practice with a diverse team of talented architects, architectural technologists, and architectural assistants we actively support their participation in creating projects that transform communities and enhance urban living conditions.”
