What a difference a year makes for Holy Trinity College, Cookstown

One year onsite and the fantastic new 16,000m2 school for Holy Trinity College, Cookstown, is really taking shape!

The facility, designed to cater for 1,360 pupils, will deliver new Sports and Technology annexes, plus a 3G full-size GAA pitch, over 13 acres at the rear of the existing Chapel Street site.

Phase 1 will see the construction of the new school, while Phase 2 encompasses demolition of the old school and completion of the games pitch and siteworks.

A modern new education facility is required by Holy Trinity to meet increased demand in the catchment area. The old school will remain fully operational for the duration of the project.

The Hamilton Architects design evokes the rural location by incorporating large expanses of coloured glazing, a brickwork plinth and an undulating pitched roof which harmonises with the rolling hills of the Sperrins.

The main 3-storey building is positioned along a north-south axis around a central courtyard. Car parking and pedestrian access, along with new bus, car and taxi drop-offs, will provide access at the front of the site.
