Gaelscoil Aodha Rua gives Education Minister a warm welcome

Hamilton Architects are delighted that work is starting on delivering new educational facilities for Gaelscoil Aodha Rua in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

Education Minister Paul Givan received a warm welcome from Principal Mona Ui Dhochartaigh when he visited the Irish language school. Mr Girvan wished pupils good morning in Irish and took part in a traditional ceili dance.

The school opened in 2011 with 12 children and currently has an enrolment of 135 pupils. It is based on the Eoghan Ruadh Hurling Club site in temporary accommodation.

Hamilton Architects is leading an Integrated Consultancy Team to design the new educational facility, which will comprise a seven-class base building and an independent nursery unit to meet the evolving needs of the school.

A business case for the new school building has been approved and awaits the green light for funding for construction.
