Hamilton Architects are delighted to announce the finalists for the Video Award in the RUA Annual Exhibition 2022.  The practice, which has supported the Academy for many years, is sponsoring this exciting new category for the 141st exhibition.

The finalists are: Zhehao Cao, Tristan Crowe, Saidhbhín Gibson, Susan Hughes, Julie Lovett, Silvia Mandic, Molly Martin, Will McConnell, Catherine McLaughlin and Dafna Tal.

The judges were Peter Richards ARUA, Creative Director & Curator of the Golden Thread Gallery Belfast; Angela Halliday ARUA, Director, Digital Art Studios; and Anna Liesching – Curator of Art at Ulster Museum.

“We had a very satisfying entry of nearly 50 works for this new category,” said Ruth Graham of the RUA. “The winner will be announced nearer the opening of the exhibition which takes place, as usual, at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, at the end of the year.”

The show, which is the highlight of Northern Ireland’s artist calendar, will feature entries from artists working in a range of artforms including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, photography, textiles, digital, audio, multi-media, glass and ceramics.

The RUA has confirmed that the 2022 Adjudicator is the well-known Belfast-born artist, writer, DJ, broadcaster and journalist, Joe Lindsay.  Free tickets for the show, which runs from 14th October to 3rd January 2023, can be booked in advance from the Ulster Museum or the RUA.
