Nicola Donnelly, Hamilton Architects’ newest accredited Conservation Architect, is putting her skills to good use in a prestigious new project for Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
Nicola, who achieved RIBA Accredited Conservation Architect status, is leading the delivery of the new Newry Theatre and Conference Centre, which comprises the conservation of Grade B1 listed Newry Town Hall.
It is not the first exciting project for Nicola, a Chartered Architect who has been with Hamilton Architects for four years. Other standout conservation projects include Enniskillen Workhouse, the School of Literary Translation at Fenian Street for Trinity College Dublin , and Methodist College Schoolhouse.
Nicola, who also earned an ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management at the same time, now has her sights set on a Specialist Conservation Architect qualification. She will have plenty of encouragement from Director Neil Moore, who is already an SCA.
Hamilton Architects, sponsors of this year’s Ulster Architectural Heritage Society Summer School and Heritage Angel Awards, have carried out some of Northern Ireland’s most high profile conservation projects.
These include the multi-award winning Enniskillen Castle Museum & Visitors Centre, Coleraine Library , John Bell House and Stormont Buildings .
