The Curragh Racecourse

The first ever-Irish Derby took place in 1866 on the Curragh and today The Curragh hosts some of the most famous races in the world including the Abu Dhabi Irish Guineas Festival, Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, Darley Irish Oaks and The Irish Field St Leger. The best Thoroughbred Horses and jockeys in Europe compete over 18 race days from March to October. Hamilton Architects were appointed to provide a masterplan for the redevelopment of The Curragh.
