Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Learning & Development Centre
Phase 1 of the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Learning & Development Centre outside Cookstown has been completed.

Hamilton Architects were part of the design team for the £4m project, which will provide critical fire training at the Co Tyrone site.

Hamilton worked with NIFRS, the Department of Health and Henry Brothers construction to deliver a facility suited to the training needs of firefighters for years to come.

A new road provides access from the Dungannon Road to a six-storey tactical firefighting facility and an ancillary support building containing a teaching laboratory, welfare, sanitary accommodation and office.

At commencement of work, Ken Henning, Vice Chair of NIFRS Board, said: “The safety of our firefighters and the public is our top priority and this new training facility will enable a range of live burn training scenarios from high rise building fires to domestic and commercial property fires.”
