A two phase development creating Ireland’s first all-weather racecourse.
Phase 1: New Greyhound Stadium, Kennels building, Track and associated car parking
New state of the art enclosed stadium to serve greyhound racing. The design included a 30m cantilever extending from the masts to the edge of the racecourse. This was an important factor to ensure uninterrupted visibility splays from all seating positions on the tiered restaurant at first floor level.
Phase 2: New 10 furlong all weather racecourse, 120% expansion of existing stadium, new weigh-room, jockeys & stewards accommodation and 130 stables
The stadium was extended by 120% to serve both horse and greyhound racing. This doubled the occupancy to 5000 persons including 4 corporate boxes accommodating 140 persons. The extension to the North side overlooks the new paddock area and bookies square.
